BERLIN – Jeremy Irons and Kim Cattrall have joined Lajos Koltai’s The Treehouse, a $10 million budgeted movie scripted by Paul Mayersberg from the novel by Eduard von Keyserling.
Irons and Cattrall join the project as the leads in a story set in pre-World War I Germany detailing the story of a failed student, his glamorous cousin, her mother and the student’s father.
The movie, originally titled The Master of Farnow, will also star Tom Sturridge (Pirate Radio) in the project, currently being touted to buyers at the EFM by L.A. based sales label House of Film.
Irons starred in Margin Call, which unspooled in Competition during the Berlinale.
Hamburg-based production banner Transcorda Filmproduktion and the U.K.’s Groundswell Productions are to produce the drama.
